Air Force common admission test (AFCAT) is conducted by Indian Air Force. AFCAT Exam is held to select commissioned officers in Indian Air Force in the flying and ground Duty branch(Technical and non-technical). Candidates appearing for Ground duty(technical) Branch is also required to appear in an EKT exam(engineering knowledge test).
Both male and female candidates can appear in this exam, through AFCAT candidates can be selected for Short Service Commission in the flying branch and Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission in ground duty( both technical and non-technical) branches.
After qualifying the AFCAT exam candidates required to appear before the Air Force Selection Board interview. If a candidate succeeds in both, then he has to appear for the final step that is a medical examination.
